The England Police Rugby Union Football Club (EPRUFC) is a non-profit
organisation made up of a committee who are either serving or retired members of the policing federation, or volunteers who believe in the ethos and social benefits of the club. The players are serving police officers and police staff, currently selected from over 24 forces across England.
Since its formation, the England team have regularly played 3 home nations fixtures as part of competing in the 4 Nations Police Championships each year. Outside of the championship, we also play fixtures against other international police teams, military teams like the RAF and Army masters and other emergency service sides like England Fire. We also play the occasional invitational charity match.
EPRUFC also tour internationally every two years and since 2015, hugely successful and engaging tours to Perpignan, Hong Kong, Vancouver and Cape Town have been arranged. These tours are organised to fully test the side’s abilities against international opposition.
Some of the team have been part of the squad since the start achieving over 15 international caps whilst being part of the organic growth of the cub. Others have only recently received their first cap and become part of the EPRUFC journey. All the players, like the committee, give their time freely and have to take either annual leave or even unpaid leave to be able to play.
